"Die Slow" is the latest single by written and produced by Convict Julie with mixing engineering and co-producing by Beatsbykolyo (Kolyo Vanchev). "Die Slow" is a journey through Convict's intimate perspective on the universe and her place in it. Living too fast too young, Convict has found herself in a position where she is understanding the value of life, wanting it to happen at the pace of a burning dim candle instead of an explosion. Filled with highs and lows, the six minutes song touches the vanity of youth, fears of life and death, and wisdom.
Sims House of Sound LLC and Convict Julie would like to personally thank Chris Byron and Nuci's Space, a health and resource center for musicians in Athens, Georgia, for mastering "Die Slow" and welcoming all artists from all walks of life to express themselves safely and have access to music equipment. https://open.spotify.com/album/7hiIMbXer6EHpzmAjWkq9r?si=Vxqi3uSDTnqqubYKQBAt3g
This two-track project, written and produced by Convict Julie with engineering and co-production by Beatsbykolyo (Kolyo Vanchev), is a breakout into Hip Hop for Convict Julie. Testing her production and lyrical skills, her two singles, "Faire de Foiles Sur" and "Slow Ya Roll parallel each other from energetic to chill. Harking on the experiences from her days of performing at strip clubs at 16, "Faire de Foiles Sur" highlights the empowerment of Convict as a woman unashamed of herself and uplifting other women. Whereas "Slow Ya Roll" emphasizes Convict's need to allow herself to be less serious in her music, creating a vibe instead of dissecting a feeling.
Let's Swim is the first EP by Convict Julie. Genre-bending in style, this project cannot be confined to a singular genre but falls within a sub-genre of R&B, alternative-R&B. Leading with "Hypocrite" featuring MMC Gue$$, the 8-track project produced by Convict Julie explores the facets of her artistry. "Let's Swim" also features one track, "Onto You," produced by Chem Beats, the same producer from her single "Devil's Playground".
